Artist Information

OneRepublic is an American pop-rock band formed in Colorado Springs, Colorado, in 2002. The lineup consists of Ryan Tedder (lead vocals, piano), Zach Filkins (lead guitar, viola), Drew Brown (guitar), Brent Kutzle (bass, cello), Eddie Fisher (drums), and Brian Willett (keyboards, violin). The band first gained attention as an unsigned act on Myspace. After performing throughout Los Angeles in 2002, the group attracted label interest and eventually signed with Velvet Hammer, an imprint of Columbia Records. They recorded their debut album with producer Greg Wells in 2005, but were dropped by Columbia shortly before its planned 2006 release. Its lead single, "Apologize", was released independently on Myspace in April 2006 and reached number one on the platform’s charts. In 2007, the band released their debut album, Dreaming Out Loud, which included "Apologize" (later remixed by Timbaland) and the follow-up single "Stop and Stare". The album achieved international success and was certified Platinum by the RIAA. OneRepublic’s second album, Waking Up (2009), produced the singles "All the Right Moves", "Secrets", "Marchin On", and "Good Life". Their third album, Native (2013), became their highest-charting effort at the time. Its single "Counting Stars" was a global hit, reaching the top five in numerous countries and peaking at number two on the US Billboard Hot 100. The band released their fourth studio album, Oh My My, in 2016, featuring collaborations with Cassius, Peter Gabriel, and Santigold. Preceding singles included "Wherever I Go" and "Kids". Throughout 2017, they released several standalone singles, including "No Vacancy", "Truth to Power", "Stranger Things" (with Kygo), and "Rich Love" (with Seeb). Their fifth studio album, Human, arrived in 2021 and included singles such as "Someday", "Run", "Somebody to Love", "Wanted", "Didn’t I", "Better Days", and "Rescue Me". The band also released "Sunshine" in November 2021 for the film Clifford the Big Red Dog. In 2022, OneRepublic released "West Coast" as the lead single for their sixth studio album. Additional releases included "You Were Loved" (with Gryffin) and "I Ain’t Worried", featured in the film Top Gun: Maverick. In 2023, the band issued "Runaway" and "Mirage" (for Assassin’s Creed Mirage). Their holiday song "Dear Santa" followed later that year. In 2024, OneRepublic released "I Don’t Wanna Wait" with David Guetta and "Nobody" (from Kaiju No. 8), written for the anime’s ending theme. They also collaborated with Meduza and Leony on "Fire", the official song for UEFA Euro 2024. The band later released "Hurt", included on their album Artificial Paradise, released July 12th. OneRepublic’s musical style spans pop, rock, and alternative influences. The band has cited inspiration from artists such as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, the Beatles, U2, M83, and Prince. They have received nominations and awards from organizations including the American Music Awards, Billboard Music Awards, World Music Awards, and Grammy Awards.
